A Triumphant Return to USF: Concert & WUSF Interview

This spring, classical pianist Idith Meshulam Korman made a celebrated return to her alma mater, the University of South Florida, for a live concert on campus. The performance featured works by Erik Satie, Robert Helps, and others, serving as a meaningful homecoming for the artist, who credits USF as an integral component in the foundation of her musical career.

Ahead of the concert, she was interviewed on Classical WSMR, the Tampa NPR affiliate, where she spoke about her journey as a pianist, the emotional significance of returning to USF, and the music she shared with the audience.

This project highlights a continued connection between performer and place, where past, present, and music meet. Thank you to @USouthFlorida and @WSMR Classical for welcoming Idith home.

Being an artist is incredibly difficult—both financially and emotionally. I’ve had my share of serious breakdowns. But if you feel this is your calling, it can be as much a blessing as a curse. Think outside the box. Connect with other art forms like design, theater, and visual arts. Accept your weaknesses. Build a strong community of fellow artists.
